Terms of use

These terms govern your use of Marble Tickets - whether you are buying a ticket or selling tickets to your own event. Please read them before you reserve.

In short: we provide the ticketing platform. The organiser runs the event, sets the price, takes your payment and decides refunds. Your ticket is a QR code that admits one person once. Version 2026-08-11.

1 · Who we are

Marble Tickets is operated by Marble Tickets, based in Botswana. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean Marble Tickets; “you” means the person using the platform.

Contact us at info@marbletickets.com or on WhatsApp at +267 76 316 816.

2 · What Marble Tickets does

We provide the technology that lets an event organiser list an event, sell tickets, and validate those tickets at the door. We are not the event organiser. We do not run events, control what happens at them, set ticket prices, or hold your payment unless the platform itself processed it.

The contract for attending an event is between you and the organiser. Your contract with us is only for the use of this platform.

3 · Your account

  • You sign in with a one-time link sent to your email, or with Google or Facebook. There is no password to lose.
  • Keep access to your email secure. Anyone who can read your inbox can open your tickets.
  • You must give accurate contact details - your ticket is sent to them.
  • You must be old enough to enter a binding contract, or have a parent or guardian do so for you.

4 · Buying a ticket

Reserving a ticket places a hold on it. A reservation is not a confirmed ticket. Your ticket is issued only once the organiser confirms they have received your payment. Until then the organiser may release the hold - for example if payment does not arrive before the event.

Ticket availability, prices, age limits and any conditions shown on the event page are set by the organiser. Where a ticket is sold as a “kids” or age-restricted type, the stated age range applies and the organiser may ask for proof at the door.

5 · Payment

For most events you pay the organiser directly - by mobile money, bank transfer or cash - using your order code as the reference. In that case:

  • We do not receive, hold or process your money.
  • We cannot confirm a payment the organiser has not confirmed.
  • Any dispute about whether a payment was received is between you and the organiser, though we will help you both look at the order record.

Where the platform processes a card or mobile-money payment on the organiser’s behalf, that will be stated clearly at checkout before you pay.

6 · Your ticket and entry

  • Each ticket carries a unique QR code with a cryptographic signature. It admits one person, once. The first scan marks it used.
  • Do not share or publish your QR code. Whoever presents it first will be admitted; we cannot help if you have shared it and someone else uses it.
  • Entry is at the organiser’s discretion and subject to the venue’s rules. A valid ticket does not override a lawful refusal of entry.
  • Tickets may not be resold at a profit without the organiser’s written consent.

7 · Changes, cancellations and refunds

Refunds are the organiser’s decision, not ours. The organiser sets the refund policy for their event and is responsible for paying refunds where they are due. Contact the organiser first - their details are on the event page.

If an organiser postpones or cancels, we will pass on what they tell us and make the order record available to you. Where Marble Tickets processed the payment and the event did not take place, we will use reasonable efforts to help recover the ticket price from funds we still hold.

8 · Selling tickets as an organiser

By listing an event you confirm that:

  • You have the right to run the event and to sell tickets to it.
  • Your event details, prices and terms are accurate, and you will honour valid tickets.
  • You hold the rights to any images, names or logos you upload, and they do not infringe anyone else’s rights.
  • You will handle attendee personal data only for running your event, in line with the Data Protection Act, 2018 (Botswana), and will not sell it.
  • You are responsible for your own tax and regulatory obligations on ticket revenue.
  • You will deal with refunds and attendee complaints about your event promptly and fairly.

We may suspend or remove an event, or an organiser account, where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken or attendees are at risk.

9 · Fees

Where we charge an organiser a platform fee or commission, it is shown in the organiser’s dashboard before an event is published. Our fee is deducted from the organiser’s side - it is not added on top of the advertised ticket price. Free events carry no fee.

10 · Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Copy, forge or attempt to forge a ticket or QR code.
  • Interfere with the platform, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or try to access another person’s order or another organiser’s data.
  • Use automated tools to reserve tickets in bulk.
  • Use the platform for anything unlawful, or to mislead attendees.

If you believe you have found a security flaw, please tell us at info@marbletickets.com rather than exploiting it. We will not pursue anyone who reports a genuine issue in good faith and gives us reasonable time to fix it.

11 · Our liability

We provide the platform with reasonable care and skill, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

We are not liable for the event itself - its cancellation, postponement, quality, safety, or an organiser’s failure to honour a ticket or pay a refund. Those are the organiser’s responsibility.

Where we are liable to you, our total liability for all claims relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for the tickets in that order. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

12 · Ending your use

You may stop using Marble Tickets at any time, and ask us to delete your account - see the privacy policy. We may suspend access where these terms are broken. Tickets already issued for a future event remain valid unless the organiser voids them.

13 · Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force when you place an order is the one that applies to that order, and we record it with the order. Material changes will be shown on this page with a new date.

14 · Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Botswana, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Botswana.

These documents are written to be clear and honest about how the platform works. They are not legal advice - before relying on them commercially, have a Botswana attorney review them against your circumstances.
